On-demand couriers

Deliver without drivers. An on-demand courier for every order.

XPRIO books an Uber Direct, DoorDash Drive or Stuart courier for each delivery, straight from your ordering app. The customer orders and pays with you; the courier only delivers.

How it works

Three steps, about an hour in total.

The provider account is yours. XPRIO handles the booking, the tracking and the customer.

1

Connect your account

Open a free account with Uber Direct, DoorDash Drive or Stuart, then paste your keys into XPRIO. A test account is available right away, guided by our help centre.

2

Choose the mode per store

In each store's settings: hand everything to the on-demand courier, or keep your drivers and only call a courier as backup.

3

Follow everything on the orders screen

Courier, position, arrival time and status appear on the order. Your customer tracks the courier in the app, and the order is marked as delivered automatically.

Order screen

One button when all your drivers are out.

In backup mode, the order shows "Call an on-demand courier" as long as no driver is assigned. In courier-only mode, the booking is sent automatically when preparation starts.

Cancellation possible until the order is picked up

XPRIO order screen: "Call an on-demand courier" button on an order with no driver
Before: no driver assigned, one click is enough.
XPRIO order screen: Uber Direct courier requested, arrival time displayed
After: Uber Direct courier requested, arrival time shown.

Two modes

With or without your own drivers.

The mode is set store by store and can be changed at any time.

On-demand courier only

You have no drivers. Every delivery order is automatically handed to an on-demand courier.

  • Automatic booking when preparation starts
  • Customer fee: your flat fee, or the courier quote plus your margin
  • Nothing to do at the counter

My drivers + courier as backup

Your drivers come first. A courier is only sent when you ask, or automatically if nobody takes the order.

  • "Call an on-demand courier" button on the orders screen
  • Optional automatic fallback, 5 to 30 minutes after "ready"
  • Customer fee: your usual delivery fee

Providers

Three courier networks, depending on your country.

XPRIO offers the providers available in your store's country. You can connect more than one.

Uber Direct

Uber's courier network, booked for your store. Instant test account, live account approved within a few days.

Actual coverage depends on the city: major urban areas and their suburbs. XPRIO checks your store's address when you connect the account, then every customer address at checkout.

What it costs

You pay for the trip. Nothing else.

No commission on your sales, no XPRIO surcharge: on-demand couriers are included in your plan.

The customer pays your delivery fee

Just like with your own drivers: your flat fee, or the courier quote plus your margin. You decide.

The provider bills you for the trip

Uber Direct, DoorDash Drive or Stuart bills each trip to your account with them, at its own rate based on city, distance and time. Once connected, XPRIO shows the price of a typical trip from your store.

The difference is yours

If your delivery fee is higher than the trip price, you keep the difference. If it is lower, you cover it. No middleman.

Online payment required

A courier does not collect money. Orders delivered by an on-demand courier are paid by card in your app. Cash remains available for collection, dine-in and your own drivers.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything we get asked about delivering without drivers.

Do I need drivers to deliver with XPRIO?

No. With on-demand couriers, XPRIO books an Uber Direct, DoorDash Drive or Stuart courier for every delivery order. You prepare, the courier picks up and delivers, and your customer tracks them live in your app.

How much does a trip cost?

The price is set by the provider based on city, distance and time, not by XPRIO. As soon as your account is connected, XPRIO shows the price of a typical trip from your store. XPRIO takes no commission: the feature is included in your plan.

Who pays for the trip?

Your customer pays the delivery fee you set in the app, as they do today. The provider bills each trip to your account with them. The difference between the two is yours, either way.

Can my customers pay cash on delivery?

Not for on-demand courier deliveries: a courier does not collect money, so the order is paid by card in your app. Cash remains available for collection, dine-in and deliveries by your own drivers.

Is my city covered?

Providers cover major cities and their suburbs. The simplest way to know: during the trial, connect a test account and XPRIO tells you right away whether your store's address is served. Every customer address is then checked at checkout.

I already deliver with Uber Direct or Stuart. Is it compatible?

Yes, it is the same account. Paste your keys into XPRIO and every order goes to your provider automatically, with no retyping.

Can I keep my drivers?

Yes. In backup mode, your drivers come first and a button on the orders screen calls a courier when they are all out. You can also make this fallback automatic if nobody takes the order after 5 to 30 minutes.

What happens if no courier is found?

XPRIO alerts you on the orders screen. You can try again, hand the order to one of your drivers, or contact the customer from the order's messaging.

Delivery is only one part of XPRIO.

Branded app, ordering website, menu, loyalty, marketing and GPS tracking for your own drivers.
