Connecting SumUp POS Pro to XPRIO (United Kingdom and Ireland)

Enter your SumUp POS Pro till credentials and choose your outlet: your orders arrive on the till, and statuses and stock-outs follow.

SumUp POS Pro, formerly Goodtill, connects directly to XPRIO with your till’s credentials. It is available to stores located in the United Kingdom and Ireland. This guide assumes you have read the general overview. Connecting your till (POS) to XPRIO

What to know

  • United Kingdom and Ireland only. The SumUp POS Pro card only appears for a store located in one of these two countries.
  • No connection fees. XPRIO takes no commission, and SumUp does not charge for the connection.
  • Opened store by store. While the card shows “Coming soon”, click We’ll let you know: we open the connection for your account and write to you as soon as it’s ready.
  • Unpaid orders are accepted. The setting for orders paid on site lets you choose between “Already paid” and “To collect on the till”: with the second, the order arrives as an open ticket, to be collected as usual.
  • Every item must be linked. SumUp POS Pro refuses unknown items: an unlinked item blocks the order from being sent, with a clear message. The XPRIO order itself is still taken and visible in Live.
  • No test environment: the test order arrives on your real till, flagged as a test.

Step 1: connect the till

  1. Go to App Configuration, Point of sale (POS), choose the store, then Connect on the SumUp POS Pro card.
  2. Enter your till’s subdomain, your username and your password: the same ones you use to open your SumUp POS Pro back office. The username is your user name, not necessarily your email.
  3. Click Save and test, choose your point of sale (outlet), then Activate.

XPRIO then reads your SumUp POS Pro menu: products, variants, options and stock-outs. Your credentials are encrypted and never shown again.

Step 2: items

Follow the card’s Next step box: import SumUp products into XPRIO if your menu is not there yet, or match the two. Linking is based on the reference (SKU) of each product: use it as the PLU of your XPRIO product and everything links automatically. Matching items between XPRIO and your till

Three SumUp POS Pro specifics:

  • meal deals: SumUp POS Pro has none. Create a “Menu” product on the till at the meal deal price and give it the XPRIO meal deal’s PLU: the customer’s choices are sent as a note on the line;
  • empty till: SumUp POS Pro does not accept a menu through its API. The button gives you a file in SumUp’s import format (Products › Import products), then syncing links everything;
  • after a file import, SumUp often ticks stock tracking on variants, which then appear sold out. Untick Track Inventory on the products you don’t track in stock.

Step 3: test order

Send a test order creates a sale flagged as a test on your till. It should appear within seconds.

Day to day

  • Every order is sent with its products, variants, options, discounts, delivery fees, the customer’s note and the mode (delivery with the address, takeaway, dine-in).
  • Statuses follow. When you accept, mark ready or complete an order in Live, the sale moves forward on the till. A sale completed on the till (Mark As Completed) becomes completed in XPRIO. A delivery order is never completed from the till: it is completed when handed to the customer.
  • Cancellation: an order cancelled in XPRIO is voided on the till. If the till refuses, your managers receive a notification and the card shows what to do: cancel it on the till.
  • Partial refund: it is made in XPRIO and entered on the till. The card shows you the amount.
  • Stock-outs from the till to XPRIO: a product sold out on the till becomes unavailable in XPRIO. A stock-out set in Live stays in XPRIO.

Frequently asked questions

The connection test fails. Check the subdomain (you can paste the full address of your back office, XPRIO keeps the right part) and the username, then try again. A password changed on the till must also be changed in XPRIO: click Connect and enter it again.

An order was not sent: “product not linked”. Open the matching screen, link the product shown, then click Retry in the card’s latest sends.

How do I disconnect? Disconnect button on the card. Item links are removed on the XPRIO side; nothing is deleted in SumUp POS Pro.
